ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Nigeria for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
The Presidency disclosed that the President's first destination is London, United Kingdom.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the vacation and resume official engagements as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The timing of the trip has attracted considerable public attention because Nigeria is entering an increasingly active political period ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Presidency, however, described the trip as part of the President's annual leave and said Tinubu would return after the vacation.
The development comes as political parties and presidential hopefuls increasingly position themselves for the next electoral contest.
Nigerian Niger Delta Reporters will continue to provide updates on the President's itinerary and major political developments during his absence.
