Security forces have rescued 21 people who were abducted in Kogi State, including 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps.
The victims were rescued during a coordinated operation involving the Nigerian Army, Police, Department of State Services, local hunters and vigilante groups.
The operation followed intelligence concerning the abduction of road users around the Alloma-Ejule-Itobe axis.
One of the rescued victims reportedly sustained a gunshot injury and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the rescue operation, while security authorities have reiterated their determination to intensify efforts against kidnapping and other forms of criminality.
Niger Delta Reporters commends the security personnel involved and urges continued intelligence-sharing between communities and security agencies.
