The Federal Government has issued fresh warnings over the risk of flooding across several parts of Nigeria, with Niger Delta communities among areas requiring heightened vigilance.
The warning is particularly significant for Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Cross River and other low-lying areas where heavy rainfall and rising water levels can quickly affect communities.
Residents living close to rivers, creeks and waterways have been advised to take precautionary measures and pay attention to official weather and flood warnings.
Niger Delta Reporters urges residents, local authorities and emergency agencies to remain proactive rather than waiting until communities are already submerged before responding.
