BREAKING: 40 Cross River Youths Renounce Cult Groups, Embrace Peace

By Niger Delta Reporters

About 40 youths in Abini Community, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, have reportedly renounced their membership of cult groups and pledged to embrace peace.

The youths were reported to have publicly abandoned their association with cult groups, marking what community stakeholders described as an important step towards reducing violence and promoting peaceful coexistence.

Cult-related violence and youth involvement in criminal activities have remained concerns in several communities across southern Nigeria.

The development is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts by community leaders, security agencies and government authorities to promote peace and discourage young people from joining violent groups.

Niger Delta Reporters commends the peace initiative and calls for sustained rehabilitation, empowerment and employment programmes for young people across the Niger Delta.
